Xavier Worthy rookie contract figures with Kansas City Chiefs revealed after NFL Draft
The Kansas City Chiefs selected Texas Longhorns wide receiver Xavier Worthy in the 2024 NFL Draft, and his contact figures have been revealed. According to Spotrac, Worthy will sign a four-year $13.8 million contract with a $6.8 million signing bonus.
Worth’s contract is fully guaranteed and has a fifth-year option since he was selected in the first round. The 20-year-old joins the Chiefs after starting 39 games in Texas. In 2023, Worthy caught 75 passes for 1,014 yards and five touchdowns. He was also effective as a punt returner, averaging 16.9 yards per return and scoring one touchdown.
Worthy is known for his speed by wants to be more than a fast player. “I want to inspire people,” Worthy said. “That’s all I want to do. I want people to respect my speed but love me as a complete wide receiver.”
Xavier Worthy wanted to play for the Chiefs
Worthy is likely not surprised he was drafted by the Chiefs. In an interview with USA Today in March, Worthy said he received a message from Patrick Mahomes after running a 4.21 in the 40-yard dash at the Combine.

“In a perfect world, I definitely would want to go to the Chiefs,” Worthy said. “Just the way Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs improvise and use you. They had Tyreek Hill. The way they used him, I feel like that would be a perfect fit for me.”
Worthy also talked about making Combine history. “I definitely knew I had a chance. I didn’t know it was gonna happen in reality. I came in knowing I was gonna run nothing slower than 4.25,” he said. “When I ran a 4.25 on my first one, I knew I was gonna break it. Because when I was training, I always ran faster on my second 40. So, I knew I was gonna run faster on that second 40.”
Worthy will be part of the Chiefs team that won the last two Super Bowls. The team has been looking for more depth at wide receiver since trading Tyreek Hill to the Miami Dolphins in 2022. Last year, tight end Travis Kelce led the Chiefs in yards (984) and receptions (93). The top wide receiver was Rashee Rice who caught 79 passes for 938 yards and seven touchdowns.
