A word to the wise: know what (or who) you’re dealing with before pulling a prank. One YouTuber who attempted to prank UFC fighter Jalin Turner learned that lesson the hard way.

One individual attempted to prank Turner on the Las Vegas strip while on an escalator. Spoiler alert: it didn’t end well for the YouTuber.

“I’mma tell you right now I’m smack the f*** outta him and his f***ing boys,” the YouTuber said. When Turner questioned him, the guy responded by saying, “You heard what I said.”

That’s when Turner grabbed the YouTuber by the throat and got him to the ground. The individual then pleaded with the UFC fighter, saying, “I’m on the phone! It’s a prank!”

One of Turner’s friends got in between the two, breaking up a scene that could’ve gotten much uglier. Although the fighter’s friend repeatedly asked, “What’s wrong with you?”

As everyone reached the bottom of the escalator — and the situation de-escalated (if you will) — the YouTuber then made one more attempt to irritate the fighter.

“It’s a prank — I’ll smack the f*** out you dude,” he said, running away immediately.

Turner’s friend then chased after the YouTuber, but it’s not really clear if anything happened after the video cut out.

It just goes to show that people are willing to do anything to get a few clicks on the internet. Even if it means risking a fight with a UFC star.

Jalin Turner comments on YouTuber prank

Turner was in Vegas for Saturday night’s UFC 290 fight against Dan Hooker in the Lightweight division. During his media availability, the fighter was asked about the interaction he had with the YouTuber and the prank that “went wrong.”

But Turner said there was nothing “wrong” with what he did. And he even implied that the individual was lucky that the prank occurred during a fight week. Otherwise, it could’ve been much worse.

“I wouldn’t say it went wrong, I would say it went exactly how it was supposed to go,” Turner said, per BroBible. “He said something and I grabbed him, he’s lucky it was fight week or I probably would have thrown some hands”

It’s probably just a wise idea to not prank a fighter. That’s just our recommendation, though.

Turner owns a record of 13-6 in mixed martial arts. He lost his fight against Mateusz Gamrot in March, ending his winning streak at five. Saturday night’s fight against Hooker is scheduled for 10 p.m. ET.
