Zak Zinter announces injury update following broken leg
Former Michigan offensive lineman Zak Zinter has revealed an update on his injury following breaking his leg late during last season’s title run for the Wolverines.
Zinter was the key cog on a very good Michigan offensive line, but the injury he suffered late in the 2023 season took him out of the action for their College Football Playoff run. However, he was the definite heart and soul of the unit during his time in Ann Arbor, and he’s now at the 2024 NFL Scouting Combine.
Speaking with the media, Zinter elaborated on when he would be able to get back to football, and it’s sooner than many originally predicted.
“Zak Zinter won’t work out at the combine. He’ll bench and plans to do some movement stuff at pro day,” Anthony Broome of The Wolverine posted on X, formerly known as Twitter. “Says he’ll be football-ready in a month and a half.”
Moreover, when Zinter is healthy at the NFL level, the 6-foot-6, 322-pound lineman should provide a lot of upside and versatility at the next level, which franchises are always on the hunt for more of.
Prior to enrolling at Michigan, Zinter was a four-star prospect and the No. 294 overall recruit in the 2020 recruiting class, according to the On3 Industry Rankings. He also checked in as the No. 29 offensive tackle in the class and the No. 3 overall player in the state of Massachusetts, hailing from North Andover (MA) Buckingham Browne & Nichols School.
The future is bright for Zinter, and one NFL team will have the privilege of bringing him to their city when they’re on the clock in April.
