It seems likely that Baltimore Ravens star quarterback Lamar Jackson will be without his top option again this weekend. Ravens receiver Zay Flowers appears extremely questionable to play against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday, according to ESPN insider Adam Schefter, who gave an injury update on Flowers Thursday on Get Up.

Flowers missed last weekend’s NFL Wild Card round win over the Steelers after being injured during the regular season finale against the Cleveland Browns. He was a non-participant at Wednesday’s practice, meaning it will be tough for him to suit up in the Divisional Round of the NFL playoffs.

“It looks like the Ravens could be without their standout wide receiver Zay Flowers, who hurt his knee in the regular season finale against the Cleveland Browns… missed last week’s wild card game,” Schefter said. “The Ravens had thought that there was a chance that Flowers could make it back for Sunday afternoon’s matchup against the Buffalo Bills, but the first practice of the week is a no practice. Not a great sign.”

If there is good news for the Ravens, it’s that Flowers could still play this week, even if he doesn’t practice. The former first-round pick out of Boston College led the Ravens with 74 receptions for 1,059 yards and four touchdowns during the regular season. It’s possible that he could be back for the Bills game, but Schefter made it seem unlikely.

“We’ll see if Flowers can make it back. Ravens head coach John Harbaugh said that Flowers doesn’t have to practice this week to be able to play on Sunday. One more element to keep in mind,” Schefter said.

Harbaugh provided an update on Zay Flowers on Monday, sharing that he’s working to get back to the field as soon as possible.

“That’s in ‘we’ll-see’ mode. He’s working hard to get back,” Harbaugh said. “We’ll see toward the end of the week if he’s practicing, and he could play without practicing for sure if he feels healthy enough and if it’s safe for him.”

The Ravens vs. Bills matchup is arguably the top game of the divisional round of the NFL playoffs. Both teams have aspirations of making the Super Bowl as they have come close time and time again, only to fall short.

Having Flowers available would certainly be beneficial as Lamar Jackson looks to make his first Super Bowl.
