Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh announced wide receiver Zay Flowers will not play in the team’s playoff game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Flowers suffered a knee injury in the Ravens’ Week 18 win over the Cleveland Browns on Saturday.

“Zay Flowers is not going to be able to make it to the game this week,” Harbaugh told reporters on Thursday. “He’ll get started again next week and we’ll move forward with the guys we have. We’re excited about the guys we have, which is everybody else.”

The playoff game against the Steelers will be the first game Flowers misses in his career due to injury. The 24-year-old finished the 2024 season with 74 receptions for 1,059 yards and four touchdowns.

The injury happened in the second quarter when Zay Flowers’ knee was hit hard by Browns linebacker Mohamoud Dibate. It was first reported that Flowers suffered a knee sprain, and the Ravens listed his status as day-to-day.

With Flowers out, the Ravens will rely more on Rashod Bateman who recorded 756 receiving yards and nine touchdowns during the regular season. “Rashod Bateman has always been high on my list and on my charts,” Harbaugh said this week, per the Ravens’ official website. “I think he’s a tremendous player, tremendous athlete, tremendous competitor and excellent wide receiver. He brings a tremendous skillset to it. He’s been playing at a high level all year.

“He made big plays for us in that game (against Cleveland) this past week. He was a factor in those drives in getting us into scoring position numerous times. Yes, he’s good, but it’s not just Rashod. I don’t think it’s about one guy – it’s everybody. We have a lot of weapons. We can move guys around in different ways, scheme those guys up, and they can all make plays.”

The Ravens selected Flowers at No. 22 overall in the 2023 NFL Draft. In his rookie season. The former Boston College star caught 77 passes for 858 yards and five touchdowns in 16 games. In two playoff games, Flowers caught nine passes for 156 yards and one score.
