4-star EDGE Jordan Carter decommits from Texas A&M

Douglas County (Ga.) four-star defensive lineman Jordan Carter has decommitted from Texas A&M, he announced on Saturday with Rivals’ Hayes Fawcett.
Carter had been pledged to the Aggies since October 2024, when he chose A&M over a host of other offers that included Georgia, Auburn, Alabama and Florida. For most of the past year, he looked to be locked in with Mike Elko and Co. despite a handful of visits to other programs.
But last month, he visited both Georgia Tech and Auburn as they continued to push to flip him.
Those efforts appear to have paid off, as he’s expected to return to The Plains for the Iron Bowl later this month on an official visit.
Prior to that trip though, he will visit Tennessee on Saturday for the Vols’ game against Oklahoma, according to Rivals’ Steve Wiltfong.

The Rivals Industry Ranking — an equally weighted average that utilizes all three major recruiting services — tabs Carter as the No. 154 prospect nationally in the 2026 class. He also ranks as the nation’s No. 22 defensive lineman and the No. 19 player in the Peach State.
Across three seasons at the high school level, he has notched more than 200 total tackles, 44 TFLs, and 39 sacks. This year alone, he has racked up 60 tackles, 16 tackles for loss and more than a dozen sacks.
With Carter’s defection, A&M’s class is now down to 25 commitments with a little more than a month until National Signing Day in December. The Aggies check in at No. 6 in the Rivals Industry Team Recruiting Rankings, headlined by five-star cornerback Brandon Arrington and elite defensive lineman Bryce Perry-Wright, another Georgia native.
