Miami adds 4-star Milan Parris to an elite WR haul this cycle

Miami will be in the mix to sign another top-10 recruiting class in just over a month. On Tuesday, it landed a top target that emerged this fall.
Akron (Ohio) Walsh Jesuit four-star wide receiver Milan Parris committed to Iowa State early, but proceeded to garner serious interest from national powers this fall. He backed off his commitment to the Cyclones at the beginning of this month.
Just a few weeks later and Parris has now committed to Miami over other new suitors in Oregon and Oklahoma. He discussed his decision with Rivals’ Steve Wiltfong.
“It was the people,” Parris said. “Everyone there made me feel like a priority and made it feel like a place I could be at for the next three to four years.”
The addition of Parris, a top-200 recruit and the No. 23 WR in the Rivals300, gives Miami 24 total commits this cycle. He also provides the finishing touches on an elite crop of receiver commits for the Hurricanes.
Miami has top-notch receiver class
With Parris now in the fold, Miami joins Ohio State as the only programs to have commitments from four Rivals300 wide receiver prospects. Mario Cristobal, Kevin Beard and Co. have an incredible haul soon to be en route to Coral Gables.
Tustin (Calif.) Mission Viejo four-star WR Vance Spafford made an early pledge to Georgia, but Miami came on strong this summer. He flipped on June 23 and is now the No. 14 receiver in the cycle, according to the Rivals Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all major recruiting media companies.

Two days later, the Canes added Charlotte William Amos Hough three-star WR Tyran Evans. The 6-foot-3 pass-catcher is now the No. 261 recruit and No. 40 WR in the Rivals300.
The middle of July saw Miami beat Florida and South Carolina for Saint Augustine (Fla.) four-star Somourian Wingo. He’s also an outlier in the Rivals300, checking in at No. 63 overall and No. 10 at the receiver position.
“Somourian Wingo is a very productive pass-catcher who plays at a strong high school program in Florida,” writes Rivals Director of Scouting and Rankings Charles Power. “He’s really made progressive strides with his burst and overall quickness. We’ve always known him to be a ball-winner, a receiver who’s strong in contested catch situations, a high-volume pass-catcher and very productive. We’ve seen him add quickness and top-end speed so far as a senior. He’s had several big-time performances and has the look of a potential true number one receiver at the next level.”
Parris had originally chosen Iowa State in January, but as his stock continued to rise as a senior, others began to take notice and dish out offers. He’s now decided on Miami after visiting over the weekend and is a humongous addition for the ACC program.
