Chicago (Ill.) Mount Carmel four-star offensive tackle Claude Mpouma announced his commitment to Nebraska on Monday.

The 6-foot-8, 305-pound Mpouma chose to play for head coach Matt Rhule and the Huskers over his other finalists in Auburn, Florida, Michigan and Ohio State.

“The culture and the coaches,” Mpouma said of Nebraska.

“I just like the environment and also the special opportunities that comes with it.”

On3 ranks Mpouma as the nation’s No. 12 offensive tackle and No. 127 prospect overall. He becomes commit No. 10 for Nebraska in the 2026 recruiting cycle.

“Seeing what other prospects they’re bringing in makes me feel good about what will be accomplished there,” Mpouma said.

Mpouma had a keen eye on Nebraska since his visit in February.

“The positivity and the welcoming they offer there,” he said.

Besides the programs mentioned, Mpouma held offers from the likes of Illinois, Notre Dame, Wisconsin, Oklahoma and USC.
