It’s commitment day for one of the top defensive prospects in the country, as ATH Lamar Brown will announce his college decision today at 12:15 p.m. CT live on ESPN.
The University Lab (Baton Rouge, LA) product is down to four finalists: LSU, Texas A&M, Miami, and Texas. However, this one is widely believed to come down to LSU and A&M.
Brown has kept things quiet in the final stretch, and sources close to the recruitment continue to call it a true 50/50. LSU has the hometown pull and has been the presumed favorite for much of the process, but Texas A&M has gained ground over the past few months and made a strong impression during his visit to College Station.
Miami and Texas remain on the board, but signs continue to point toward this being an SEC battle between LSU and Texas A&M.
Brown is one of the most sought-after defensive players in the South, and his decision will be closely watched by both fanbases. No matter which way it goes, one program is about to land a major piece for its 2025 defense.
