The X Factors: OT Dametrious Crownover

In this series, we’re looking at 10 players who could have a major impact on the success or failure of the 2025 Texas A&M football team. Some are starters, some aren’t — but they’re certainly not getting the attention they deserve.
The series continues with offensive tackle Dametrious Crownover, now a fifth-year senior entering his third year as a starter at right tackle.
Class: Redshirt senior
Height/Weight: 6-foot-7, 336 pounds
2024 stats: Started all 13 games, allowing no sacks
Why he’s so important: Texas A&M is supposed to have one of the best offensive lines in the nation this year, and that only happens if Crownover plays and plays well. He’ll certainly be needed at his right tackle spot after Deuce Fatheree was injured last week and will likely miss several games; A&M is not deep at offensive tackle.
Even though fellow linemen Ar’maj Reed-Adams, Trey Zuhn and Chase Bisontis received preseason All-SEC nods (and, in the case of Reed-Adams, a first team All-American selection from the Associated Press), Crownover has been as steady as any of them. As mentioned, Crownover didn’t give up a sack in 2024 and has become a reliable (and huge) presence on the line. If his run blocking has improved in the offseason and he remains on the field, he’ll have a good chance at being considered for the All-SEC team that matters — the one at the end of the year.
