Where Does A&M Go Next in WR recruiting?

Texas A&M took a hit at wide receiver on July 4, as long-time target Boobie Feaster announced his commitment to USC, choosing the Trojans over a group that included the Aggies. While Feaster had been one of the top names on Mike Elko’s board, A&M now shifted focus to a pair of priority targets who could still make a major impact on the 2026 class: Tristen Keys and Jase Matthews.
Tristen Keys:

The biggest name to monitor from here on out is Keys, the 5-star LSU commit who took an official visit to College Station on June 6. Since then, Texas A&M has quietly ramped things up behind the scenes. Keys has become the top offensive target for Elko and staff, and there’s growing confidence that the Aggies have at least put themselves in a position to make this interesting down the stretch.
While flipping a longtime LSU commit is no easy task, sources close to the program believe the official visit opened the door. If A&M can get him back on campus later this summer or into the fall, this battle could turn into a real fight. To make things even more interesting, Tennessee also thinks they have a chance at a flip.
Jase Matthews: LSU Leads, But A&M Gave Him Something to Think About

Another name still firmly on the radar is Jase Matthews, who’s down to A&M, LSU, Auburn, and Ole Miss. Right now, LSU holds a slight edge, but his official visit to College Station left a real impression. He came away feeling comfortable, and the Aggie staff made sure he knew he was wanted.
A&M will continue to push here, and though LSU has the momentum today, don’t rule out the Aggies making a late move — especially if Matthews decides to take a closer look before making his final call.
Final Thoughts
Losing Boobie Feaster stings, but it’s not the end of the road for Mike Elko’s 2026 WR class. With Keys and Matthews still firmly on the board, Texas A&M has a real shot to rebound in a big way. Both recruitments are expected to stretch out a little longer, giving A&M more time to work the phones, make in-person visits, and keep building on relationships.
If they can land one of the two — or even both — the outlook at wide receiver could go from good to great in a hurry.
