Penn State Commit Khalil Taylor Eligible for Regular Season

The WPIAL has ruled Penn State commit Khalil Taylor eligible for the upcoming high school football regular season after the rising junior transferred from Seton LaSalle to Pine-Richland.
It was reported by Chris Harlan of TribLive that the WPIAL ruled Taylor eligible based on paperwork alone Monday. Taylor is still ineligible for the playoffs based on PIAA rules, but can appeal and seek a waiver.
Taylor is a four-star prospect and ranked as the No. 50 player nationally, according to the Rivals Industry Ranking. He checks in as the No. 9 wide receiver in the class and fourth player in Pennsylvania.
The 5-foot-11, 180-pound Taylor made an early verbal pledge to James Franklin and Penn State back on March 29.
As a sophomore at Seton LaSalle, Taylor caught 51 passes for 932 yards and 22 touchdowns. Taylor was also featured on the defensive side of the ball at defensive back for a Rebels team that went undefeated in the regular season and appeared in the Class 2A championship game before falling to South Park.
Taylor joins a Pine-Richland program that took home the WPIAL Class 5A title in 2024 and is primed to make another run at a district, and now a state, title in 2025. The Rams feature returning quarterback Aaron Strader, Florida State defensive back commit Lawrence ‘Jay’ Timmons, Pitt offensive line commit John Curran III and a bevy of other Division I talent.
