Wednesday Night Clemson Football Notes; Easton Ware done for the year

CLEMSON — Clemson head football coach Dabo Swinney visited with the media after Wednesday’s practice in advance of Saturday’s home game against Troy.
A few of the notable items:

— Antonio Williams and Khalil Barnes have done “just a little” this week, he said. Both have hamstring injuries.
— Walker Parks has done “a lot more” in practice than last week.
“He’s gotten pretty good work in and is getting better and better every day,” Swinney said.
— Harris Sewell and Elyjah Thurmon played at right guard in Parks’ absence. Swinney said they did “pretty good,” noting that Thurmon gave up a pressure.
“Nobody was good enough to win the game, but those guys did a solid job.”
— He said offensive lineman Easton Ware is out for the year with a shoulder injury that will require surgery. He said Ware was coming on before his ailment. The plan is to redshirt him.
“He was one of those guys right there in the mix,” Swinney said.
— Swinney is happy with the heavy rotation from the defensive line against LSU. Ten players got snaps in the game.
“That’s how you get really good is when you have depth in the D-line,” he said. “They played really well.”

He said end Darien Mayo will add to the depth as they move forward.
— Ian Schieffelin is eligible to play against Troy after serving a one-game suspension.

“He’s made a ton of progress,” Swinney said. “He’s one of our tight ends waiting on an opportunity.”
