What Kentucky head coach Mark Stoops said about Georgia

Kentucky lost to Georgia 35-14 in Athens on Saturday afternoon. Here is what Wildcat head coach Mark Stoops had to say about the Bulldogs following the loss.
Opening statement: “You know, we’re not where we want to be. Tough to take a loss. Again, you know, give credit to Kirby and to Georgia. That’s a very good football team. Playing at home, coming off a loss, and played very well. I thought they played, gave us a lot of problems early with formations. Offensively, a lot of times, I don’t think people give them enough credit. They may not look very flashy and all that stuff, but they’re very hard to defend. They’re very physical, keep you off balance, and play very good. We have to do a better job in all phases.”
On if he believes Kentucky showed progress today: “I do… I felt like we, you know, got better in certain ways today. There were, you know, good periods of time. I think we threw the ball 42 times. Certainly, they’re going to create pressure, and they’re a great defense. With their coverage and with getting pressure on them, I felt like times today we had some decent time. We got rid of the football on time. We got some completions. I think, in particular, the first half, our completion percentage was a little higher. I wish we would have capped it off with at least three there at the end of the half. It would have gave us a little momentum. But I thought we made some strides, yeah.”
On if there was any truth to a radio report that he discussed an exit with Kentucky administration last year: “I hate to give anything like that legs. There’s zero. I told you last year, right, you know what I mean? You guys can write and say what you want about me, but, I mean, I told you, like, there’s zero chance I’m walking away. You know what I mean? Zero. There’s no quit in me. So that’s unequivocally, 100 percent false. Anybody who says otherwise is lying. And I don’t want to address that crap no more.”
On how Georgia limited the run game today: “Georgia, you know, saw Seth (McGowan) and other backs and us having some success. They know that. Coming into it, you know, Kirby talks about it. He knows we want to be physical. He knows we’re going to want to run the ball to set up some pass. They’re pretty good.”
