2025 Preview: South Carolina

Softball America continues its 2025 previews with South Carolina. Ashley Chastain takes over her alma mater, bringing over most of her staff and a core of her roster from Charlotte. She doesn't imagine changing much as they head into the gauntlet that is the SEC. "The game is the game. People are people," she said. "We've all been in the SEC before and know what it looks like. If you look at our Charlotte schedule, it's one of the best non-conference schedules. We played the teams we are going to play this year. We did everything at Charlotte with a mindset like we were in the SEC. For us, nothing changes how we love on our players, how we train is the same."
