2025 Preview: Stanford
Stanford is coming off its second straight Women's College World Series appearance. If the Cardinal is to make it a third straight season, it'll look different. Obviously, Jessica Allister and her staff have to figure out what winning without NiJaree Canady looks like. But it's not as crazy as it seems. Allister has built the program back up and it is easy to forget that she did make a Super Regional before Canady ever wore a Stanford uniform. There are plenty of returners and a very talented freshman class coming into the program to compete at a high level again. "Every year you have to figure out how to win. When you look at your roster year-to-year, that is going to change. Two years ago, our pitching and defense needed to protect our offense. Last year, our pitching and offense protected our defense. This year our offense and defense will need to protect our pitching a little bit. It's not a bad thing and we have the roster to do it. We are talented in the circle, they are just lacking in experience. But that doesn't scare me. They're going to get the opportunity to grow. The only to grow is to go out there and pitch. By the end of the year, they can compete with anyone."
