Team Wallace and Team Lorenz earned wins behind terrific pitching performances from Georgina Corrick and Aleshia Ocasio on Saturday.

Team Wallace 11, Team McQuillin 3

This game felt a lot closer than the final score indicates. Team Wallace only scored in two innings, but put together six- and five-run frames.

After Caroline Jacobsen tied the game in the second, Alyssa Denham appeared to roll up the inning-ending ground ball. However, Morgan Zerkle reached on an error and the inning continued.

Skylar Wallace helped her own cause poking a go-ahead RBI single. Kelsey Stewart-Hunter hit one to center that Haylie McCleney had in her glove but it slid out as she finished her dive. That drove in two more runs. Erin Coffel doubled in two more to extend the lead to five.

Sashel Palacios put Team Wallace in control of 40 win points after three innings worth of points carried over. She unloaded on a 3-0 pitch to hit a bases-clearing double to make it 9-1. Zerkle and Jadelyn Allchin also drove in runs in the sixth.

Team McQuillin showed fight when Sharlize Palacios and Erika Piancastelli hit back-to-back home runs in the bottom of the sixth. It was too little, too late though versus Georgina Corrick. The righty was great in her complete game effort. She used her drop ball and changeup throughout the zone. Corrick struck out seven and only allowed three hits, earning top MVP honors.

Sashel Palacios was MVP two (40 points) and Stewart-Hunter MVP three (20 points).

Team Lorenz 2, Team Kilfoyl 0

Aleshia Ocasio and Kat Sandercock made quick work of Team Kilfoyl to boost their captain Amanda Lorenz onto the top of the leaderboard.

Ocasio retired the first 11 batters she faced to open the game. She hit a batter and walked another but induced a pop up to end the threat. Aliyah Andrews finally ended the no-hit bid to open the six and Osacio was lifted for Sandercock.

Sandercock allowed a single to Sis Bates and Team Kilfoyl was in business. The Florida State alum set down the next three batters. Sandercock threw a perfect seventh inning in five pitches to secure the win.

On the flip side, Hannah Flippen provided the only offense in the game. Victoria Hayward led off the game with a single against Lexi Kilfoyl and Lorenz reached on a bunt single. Flippen then flew one to the warning track, bouncing off the wall to drive them in.

Ocasio (60 points), Flippen (40 points) and Hayward (20 points), who had two hits, earned MVP honors. After back-to-back wins in the circle, Ocasio has jumped into third place on the leaderboard.
