No. 1 overall 2026 recruit Caroline Stanton commits to Florida
The top prospect of the 2026 softball recruiting class has found her new home. Caroline Stanton announced her commitment to Florida on Monday morning following her visit to Gainesville over the weekend.
Stanton, a product of Buford High School in Georgia and the Texas Bombers organization, is a right-handed pitcher and can play in the outfield.
“Florida felt like home the second I got there this weekend,” she said. “The opportunity to play with some of my best friends again under an amazing coaching staff is what meant the most. I have always wanted to be a Florida Gator. The culture, family environment and high-level competitiveness made it all feel right.”

The legendary Cat Osterman, the Director of Pitching Performance for the Texas Bombers organization, had this to say about Stanton.
“What a ranking doesn’t reflect is what type of human Caroline is,” Osterman said. “Florida didn’t only get a talented arm, but they got an incredible person and teammate. She is selfless and understands how to be part of a staff. I’ve seen her thrive, and I’ve seen her be the first out to hug another pitcher when they had success. Her power and change of speeds will allow her success in the circle, but she is going to be able to impact Florida in so many other ways too because of who she is. I’m very excited for her and for Florida! It’s a great fit.”
