It was quite the homecoming for Softball America’s No. 1 overall recruit Addisen Fisher. Kelly Inouye-Perez trusted the Bend, Ore. native with the ball against No. 10 Oregon, needing a win to even the series. The freshman delivered a gem.

Fisher threw a six-inning complete game as No. 7 UCLA beat No. 10 Oregon 8-0 to even the series between the top two teams in the Big Ten.

Fisher struck out Emma Cox to end the game with an exclamation point and leave a runner at third that would’ve extended the game. She improved to 14-0 this season after only allowing three hits against the Ducks. Fisher also rose up in big moments, holding the Ducks hitless with runners in scoring position in eight at-bats.

Oregon used Lyndsey Grein as an opener and she tossed a clean first. Staci Chambers tossed a zero in the second inning. Elise Sokolsky was brought in the third inning as that seemed to be Missy Lombardi’s plan to help shorten a ‘start’ for her.

The Bruins took advantage of a walk and an uncharacteristic error by Paige Snicki to open the third. Jordan Woolery drove in a run with a sacrifice fly and another run scored on a wild pitch.

UCLA broke things open in the sixth against Sokolsky and Taylour Spencer. Woolery hit a bases-clearing double to extend the lead to five. Kaniya Bragg smoked her seventh home run of the season, a three-run shot to put the run-rule into effect. All six runs in the sixth came with two outs.

The rubber match will take place on Sunday at 5 p.m. ET on B1G+. Grein will likely get the ball for Oregon and UCLA could turn back to Taylor Tinsley or go with Kaitlyn Terry.
