Freshman All-American Maddie Johnson transferring to Georgia

Georgia is wasting no time in the transfer portal. After the Bulldogs added Coastal Carolina infielder Keirstin Roose, Softball America Freshman All-American Maddie Johnson announced her commitment to Georgia on Tuesday.
The Athens native returns home to be a part of the Bulldogs next season. Johnson earned a First-Team Sun Belt nod after having a 12-10 record with a 2.03 ERA. She picked up wins against Michigan, UCF and Coastal Carolina this season as well as a good outing in a 1-0 loss to Georgia. She’ll give Georgia a complementary righty to lefty Randi Roelling.
