Jocelyn Alo retakes lead on AUX Leaderboard ahead of season finale
Jocelyn Alo blasted a pair of home runs as Team Alo split its doubleheader Sunday, putting Alo back on top. The stage is now set for an epic season finale to come on Tuesday.
Team Alo vs. Team Nickles
Jocelyn Alo took back the lead atop the AUX leaderboard with her own hands. After watching McKenzie Clark tie the game with a two-run blast, the home run queen sent out her own for a 90-point swing, earning Team Alo 50-win points by taking the fifth inning.
Alo wasn’t done, sending out another two-run homer in her next at-bat as the floodgates opened in Team Alo’s 9-5 win over Team Nickles. Alo’s fifth and sixth home runs – six in the most home runs in an AUX season – earned her 60 MVP points in a critical day against Bubba Nickles, who took the AUX lead on Saturday.

Haylie McCleney was on the backside of a back-to-back home run with Alo in the sixth. Alo finished with three hits. Clark had a pair as the offense led the charge in the win.
Meanwhile in the circle, Sarah Willis wasn’t exactly the sharpest but got the job done. Willis was in trouble nearly every inning as she ended her outing with nine walks and hit one batter. However, she didn’t allow a hit until the fifth inning. Team Nickles did take the lead on a two-run single by Kelsey Stewart-Hunter. Then Clark and Alo answered back.

Team Mazon vs. Team Alo
Montana Fouts nearly escaped no-outs bases-loaded jam in the third. She struck out a pair and only Tori Vidales stood in her way of keeping the game scoreless. The veteran had only plans. She lifted a grand slam to start the Team Mazon rout in the 9-1 win in Sunday’s nightcap.

The homer and the 60 MVP points has put Vidales third on the leaderboard and in a prime position to win on Tuesday’s season finale. The Texas A&M alum finished the day going 3-for-3 with a double and six RBIs.
Vidales carried the offense, Maddie Penta did well in the circle. Penta, typically known for racking up strikeouts, generated a lot of weak contact as she had a no-hitter through five innings before Clark and Alo paired up for a single and double to score Team Alo’s lone run. Mariah Mazon called her own name and closed out the contest in the seventh.
Leaderboard
Team Nickles will play a doubleheader on Tuesday giving Bubba Nickles a chance to rise back up to the top spot or will Alo hold? Or maybe Mazon or Vidales takes a leap?
