In the Series Two finale of AUX, Mariah Mazon made history becoming the first AUX pitcher to throw a complete game shutout and Tori Vidales walked it off for Team Alo in game two.

Team Edwards vs. Team Alo

Bubba Nickles’s two-run home run in the third inning off Odicci Alexander and Mariah Mazon’s complete game shutout was all Team Edwards needed to snatch the 2-0 win over Team Alo.

With just four hits and three strikeouts, Mazon was electric in the circle. Team Alo threatened a few times in the second and third innings with bases loaded, but Team Edward’s defense was trusted right behind Mazon.

Another tough jam was presented to Mazon in the bottom of the seventh with runners on, but Mazon worked through it by planting pitches to get the ball in the dirt. She battled to accomplish her second complete game in just three starts and achieved history becoming the first pitcher to throw a complete game shutout in AUX history.

History was made twice more in game 11 when Morgan Zerkle’s single to center field and Tori Vidales’s double up the middle led them to become the second and third player in Athlete’s Unlimited to reach 100 hits, right behind Victoria Hayward who stands in first with 103 hits.

Vidales added to her phenomenal night with another double and Zerkle was nothing but speed on the base path and in left field.

MVP honors were awarded to Mazon (860 total points), Nickles (896) and Vidales (766).

Team Clark vs. Team Alo

One out away from Team Alo taking game two, Nadia Taylor crushed a home run to right center to tie up the game. But quickly into the bottom of the seventh, Aleshia Ocasio threw Vidales a meatball over the plate that she sent soaring to center field for a 3-2 walk-off homer.

Hope Trautwein fell behind in the circle straightaway in the first inning and Team Clark didn’t waste any time to cross the plate. Aubrey Leach began the game with a single down the left field line which was followed by a perfect bunt by Kayla Kowalick. Sam Fischer was then hit by Trautwein to load the bases which allowed Kalei Harding to single to score Leach.

That deficit didn’t last long for Team Alo though, as they grabbed the lead in the second after Keilani Ricketts and Team Clark’s defense struggled to make routine plays. Andrea Filler reached on an error by Billie Andrews and with bases loaded, Haylie McCleney also reached on a throwing error by Leach to score two runs.

Taylor McQuillin came in for relief of Trautwein who finished the evening with five hits and two strikeouts. Sydney McKinney held down the defense for Team Alo showcasing her talent at shortstop with an outstanding diving catch and throw.

The bats were silent from there until Nadia Taylor crushed a homer to right center to put Team Clark right back into this game. Quickly into the bottom of the seventh, Aleshia Ocasio gave up a homer to Vidales and the game was back in Team Alo’s hands.

MVP honors went to Vidales (766 total points), Taylor (666) and McKinney (790)
