She has made her decision. The reigning Softball America Pitcher of the Year NiJaree Canady has committed to Texas Tech, she announced on Wednesday.

Canady will be a rising junior for the Red Raiders. She has a career record of 41-10 in the circle. Canady amassed 555 strikeouts the past two seasons at Stanford. Canady took her game to another level this past season after a stellar freshman year. She pitched 230.2 innings and still led the nation with a .73 ERA.

Canady will likely complete what is an outstanding transfer class for Texas Tech. New head coach Gerry Glasco has recruited a handful of his former Louisiana players including Mihyia Davis, Chloe Riassetto, Alexa Langeliers and a few others. Tech also landed Alana Johnson and Katie Lott from the portal to pair with a good incoming freshman class.

Texas Tech has certainly emerged as a contender in the Big 12 and a team that could certainly have the talent to make it to Oklahoma City.
