Ole Miss knocks out Arizona, returns to Supers for first time since 2019

The late offseason addition of Aliyah Binford made the difference when it mattered most. The Baylor graduate transfer homered twice, leading Ole Miss to a 7-3 win over Arizona and back to Super Regionals for the first time since 2019.
Binford hit a two-run blast in the first inning to give the Rebels an early lead. Mackenzie Pickens matched her with another two-run homer off Devyn Netz.
Arizona responded with two runs in the bottom of the first, but Ole Miss’s bats punched back too. Persy Llamas kept her power stroke going with another home run. The solo shot was her fourth in her last six games. Ole Miss added another run in the third to put the lead back to four.
Sydney Stewart hit a solo home run in the bottom of the third, but Binford matched it with her second home run of the game.

Arizona found nine hits against Ole Miss starter Bri Lopez but never found the one to break it open. The Wildcats did load the bases in the sixth, which forced Lopez out. Freshman Miali Guachino came in to face Stewart. She got Stewart to pop up on the first pitch.
Guachino retired all four batters she faced to end the game.
Ole Miss will travel to Arkansas for Super Regionals, a team they beat twice in the first weekend of SEC play.
