Vidales, Corrick earn MVP honors to open Series 3
Georgina Corrick dealt another gem to lead Team Palacios to victory. At the same time, a Tori Vidales’ bomb keeps Amanda Lorenz on top of the leaderboard to open Series Three of AU Softball Season Five.
Team Palacios 6, Team Kilfoyl 3
Georgina Corrick was the ace Sashel Palacios needed as her battery mate. The USF alum allowed a lead-off single to Victoria Hayward and cruised the rest of the way. Team Kilfoyl didn’t have another hit the rest of the game versus Corrick despite Hayward scoring in the first inning. Corrick went four innings, allowing one hit and one run, earning top MVP honors.
Corrick had the benefit of early offense as well. College and professional hitters alike have struggled to find extra-base hits off of Lexi Kilfoyl. Aubrey Leach and Sis Bates hit back-to-back doubles in the right-center field gap to score the first run to open the game. Team Palacios finished the day with nine hits, three going for extra bases.
After scoring two more in the first inning, Team Palacios scored in the second, fifth and seventh. Three straight singles from Karli Spaid, Leach and Bates let Haylie McCleney drive in a run on a ground out. McCleney later homered in the seventh. Kalei Harding had an RBI double.
Team Kilfoyl salvaged 20 win points by taking the seventh, scoring two runs after three singles and driving them in with a pair of productive outs.

Team Lorenz 6, Team McQuillin 3
Amanda Lorenz’s group squared up softballs in Saturday’s win. Lorenz and her offense responded after falling behind early.
Anissa Urtez found a two-RBI single to tie the game and Aliyah Andrews hit the go-ahead sacrifice fly later in the second. The biggest swing of the day belonged to the game’s top MVP; Tori Vidales. Vidales ripped a liner against Taylor McQuillin that left Rosemont in a hurry for a two-run home run, extending the lead to three.
Lorenz padded the lead in the sixth with an RBI single after Andrews reached on an error.
Team Lorenz starter Aleshia Ocasio settled down after allowing a two-RBI double to Jessie Warren in the first. Ocasio tossed three scoreless innings before giving way to Kat Sandercock and Mariah Mazon, who put up three shutout innings too.
