Softball America Top 25 Rankings: Week 10

They’re are probably 13 teams deserving of Top 10 prestige, but there are only so many spots. A three-loss week sees Florida plummet outside the Top 10 while Arkansas and UCLA rejoin the ranks. Nebraska is back in the Softball America Top 25 with Georgia falling out.

1. Texas (37-3) (Last Week’s Ranking: 1)

The Longhorns swept Missouri despite a few close calls in Sunday’s doubleheader. Nevertheless, Texas returns home to face Karlyn Pickens and a hot Tennessee team.

2. Oklahoma (34-3) (3)

Oklahoma’s non-conference week was slightly altered due to weather but they still notched a shutout of UCF. The Sooners play Oklahoma State in a midweek game in Oklahoma City before traveling to Alabama for the weekend.

3. Texas A&M (34-5) (4)

The Aggies took care of business during their doubleheader in Athens, beating the Bulldogs by a combined score of 20-5. Texas A&M seeks the sweep on Monday at 6 p.m. ET on SEC Network.

4. LSU (34-5) (5)

The Tigers beat McNeese during the week and took the series against Alabama. This week, they’ll have a Top-Five showdown in College Station against the Aggies.

5. Florida State (36-6) (6)

The Noles picked up their biggest win of the season by blanking Florida. Florida State found itself behind the eight-ball against Virginia but locked in to take the series.

6. South Carolina (30-8) (7)

The Gamecocks keep winning series. It wasn’t the best week for the offense but the pitching stepped up, holding Ole Miss to four runs this weekend. Now they head to Bogle Park

7. Arkansas (28-8) (13)

Arkansas has found its mojo since the Oklahoma series. The Razorbacks picked up another road series win over the Gators, showing that they’re not just about Bri Ellis and Robyn Herron.

8. Oregon (35-3) (8)

The Ducks avenged an early season loss to Oregon State by run-ruling the Beavers. Oregon swept Michigan over the weekend.

9. UCLA (36-5) (11)

The Bruins showed their offensive firepower in the first game against Ohio State. Then, Taylor Tinsley reminded everyone how good she it with a complete game shutout of the Buckeyes lineup.

10. Tennessee (32-8) (9)

After the Oklahoma series, the Lady Vols didn’t suffer a letdown by run-ruling Mississippi State twice to win another SEC series. Tennessee has another big challenge ahead with a showdown in Austin.
