Softball America Top 25 Rankings: Week 6

The latest Softball America Top 25 rankings remain the same at the top, but an argument can be made for all three to be voted for the No. 1 spot. Oregon and Tennessee join the Top 10 after impressive weekends. Ole Miss and UCF claim spots after two upset series wins.

1. Texas (24-1) (Last Week’s Ranking: 1)

The Longhorns handled their business against Baylor and a few mid-majors in Ohio.

Up Next: The Longhorns conclude their trip to Columbus with a Monday meeting against Dayton and Ohio State. Texas will then travel to Gainesville to open its SEC slate at Florida.

2. Oklahoma (22-0) (2)

The Sooners swept South Carolina in a hard-fought series with each contest coming down to one run.

Up Next: Oklahoma hits the road this week with a mid-week game at Tulsa before arriving at Bogle Park to take on Arkansas.

3. Florida (26-2) (3)

Florida picked up a huge road series win over Texas A&M without ace Keagan Rothrock.

Up Next: The Gators will have quite the test this week with a mid-week game against UCF, a team fresh to the Top 25 poll, and a series against Texas.

4. LSU (23-1) (6)

The Tigers took care of business against South Alabama and Minnesota ahead of SEC play.

Up Next: LSU begins SEC play by hosting Kentucky, the Tigers will also take on the Ragin’ Cajuns on Tuesday.

5. UCLA (23-4) (7)

The Bruins scored 51 runs in five games this past week and Taylor Tinsley threw a no-hitter against San Diego State.

Up Next: The Bruins will have their Big 10 initiation by hosting Purdue. UCLA also hosts San Diego in a mid-week contest.

6. Texas A&M (21-4) (5)

The Aggies couldn’t pull out the rubber match against Florida on Sunday.

Up Next: Texas A&M heads to Auburn to take on the Tigers at Jane B. Moore field.

7. Arizona (22-4) (4)

UCF got the best of the Wildcats in the first two days of their series. Arizona bounced back with a run-rule win on Sunday.

Up Next: Arizona will look to bounce back after dropping the series to UCF by hosting Utah State and Utah.

8. Oregon (23-2) (11)

While the Ducks dropped a strange one to rival Oregon State, blanking the Florida State offense twice in one weekend is very impressive.

Up Next: Oregon opens Big Ten play by hosting a familiar foe in Washington.

9. Tennessee (21-4) (12)

The Lady Vols had their best weekend of the year by taking the series at Georgia and nearly sweeping the Bulldogs.

Up Next: Tennessee takes on Duke on Tuesday before hosting UConn for a series.

10. South Carolina (20-3) (9)

The Gamecocks put up quite a battle in three games at Love’s Field, falling three times in one run. The offense looks more legit than ever.

Up Next: South Carolina hosts a good Coastal Carolina squad and welcomes Georgia over the weekend.
