Softball America Top 25 Rankings: Week 8

The Softball America Top 25 remains pretty similar this week, especially at the top. South Carolina re-enters the Top 10 as Tennessee falls out after dropping the series versus Arkansas. Virginia and Clemson are back in the Top 25 after more ACC series wins.

1. Texas (31-2) (Last Week’s Ranking: 1)

The Longhorns swept Auburn with three major offensive outputs.

Up Next: Texas has a mid-week with Stephen F. Austin and then travels to Mississippi State.

2. Oklahoma (29-1) (2)

Oklahoma dropped its first game of the season but won the series at Missouri.

Up Next: The Sooners visit Wichita State and then will host Tennessee.

3. LSU (29-2) (3)

The Tigers won the series at Georgia despite a bit of an ugly getaway game. Nevertheless, they only have lost two games this season.

Up Next: LSU takes on the Ragin’ Cajuns in Lafayette and then hosts South Carolina for a Top-10 showdown.

4. Florida (30-4) (4)

The Gators took care of Jacksonville and North Florida during their SEC off-week.

Up Next: Florida pays a visit to UCF before traveling to a struggling Auburn team.

5. Texas A&M (26-5) (6)

Texas A&M won the series versus Alabama but certainly had to earn it.

Up Next: The Aggies host Sam Houston, North Texas and LMU at Davis Diamond this week.

6. Arizona (29-5) (7)

Arizona won the state with a road win at GCU and took the series at Arizona State

Up Next: Arizona stays on the road as they travel to Provo for the first time to face BYU.

7. Oregon (29-3) (8)

The Ducks swept Illinois with a close call in the series finale.

Up Next: Oregon makes its first trip east to visit Rutgers for two games.

8. Florida State (29-5) (10)

Florida State had a very impressive week, beating Alabama and sweeping Duke on the road.

Up Next: The Noles host Stetson and NC State this week.

9. UCLA (28-5) (5)

The Bruins split the two-game set at Iowa.

Up Next: UCLA stays east to play Howard and Maryland.

10. South Carolina (24-6) (11)

The Gamecocks took the series versus Texas Tech without Arianna Rodi.
