The more things change, the more things stay the same. Bri Ellis and Jordy Bahl continue to have a stranglehold on first and second place. NiJaree Canady and Devyn Netz continue to have great performances and are putting pressure on the top two. Jordan Woolery jumps into our top five this week, while Karlyn Pickens is not too far behind.

Top Five Candidates
1. Bri Ellis
1B | Arkansas | Next Series, 4/11 vs South Carolina
BA | OPS | HR | RBIs | SLG % | OB % | FLD % |
0.511 | 1.900 | 20 | 59 | 1.256 | 0.644 | 0.986 |
Somehow, Ellis was able to improve upon her ridiculous numbers this week. She hit two more home runs and knocked in seven more as Arkansas was able to win two out of three against Florida. The production allowed her batting average to jump back over .500 on the year. Ellis and the Razorbacks will have another tough outing as they host South Carolina this weekend at Bogle Park.
2. Jordy Bahl
P/UTL | Nebraska | Next Series, 4/12 at Northwestern
ERA | W-L | WHIP | Strikeouts | Bat Avg | HR | RBIs |
1.33 | 16-4 | 0.88 | 164 | 0.441 | 12 | 39 |
Bahl did everything she could to keep pace with Ellis at the plate. She hit her 12th home run of the season and had five RBIs as well. Her ERA went down from 1.44 to 1.33, and she notched two more wins in the circle. She did take the loss in Saturday’s game against Iowa, but none of the five runs surrendered were earned. Bahl and the Cornhuskers travel to Evanston to face the league-leading Northwestern this weekend.
3. NiJaree Canady
P/UTL | Texas Tech | Next Series, 4/11 vs Houston
ERA | W-L | WHIP | Strikeouts | Bat Avg | HR | RBIs |
0.60 | 15-4 | 0.66 | 185 | 0.302 | 4 | 20 |
Canady continued to do Canady things last weekend against Utah. She pitched in all three games against the Utes, picking up a win in each game. In her 17 innings of work, she gave up seven hits and one run while striking out 22 batters. She also got a hit in the series-closing victory. She will face a Houston team this weekend that should allow her to maintain that success.

4. Devyn Netz
P/UTL | Arizona | Next Series, 4/11 at Kansas
ERA | W-L | WHIP | Strikeouts | Bat Avg | HR | RBIs |
2.46 | 15-4 | 1.00 | 74 | 0.368 | 13 | 48 |
Netz narrowly missed a clean sweep of Oklahoma State last weekend. She gave up three runs in the 7th inning in the loss on Friday night. However, she supplied most of the work as she threw five innings of two-hit ball while belting a two-run home run in the final game. Arizona went on to win the game 3-0 to take the series. Netz and the Wildcats have to avoid the look-ahead at Kansas this weekend.
5. Jordan Woolery
1B | UCLA | Next Series, 4/11 vs Washington
BA | OPS | HR | RBIs | SLG % | OB % | FLD % |
0.434 | 1.524 | 17 | 61 | 0.992 | 0.532 | 0.988 |
Woolery is quietly having one of the best individual seasons in the country. Her 17 home runs and 61 RBIs both rank in the top 10 in the nation. If the bat of Woolery continues to stay hot, the Bruins could be one of the toughest outs in the NCAA tournament. UCLA will entertain a red-hot Washington team this weekend, who are the winners of nine straight.
