As Softball America grows its coverage at all levels, we continue our recruiting spotlight series with Alyssa Quick, a pitcher from Missouri.

Name: Alyssa Quick
Primary Position(s): P
Class Year: 2026
Hometown: Kearney, MO
Travel Ball Organization: Louisville Lady Sluggers

What is your favorite travel ball memory?

Traveling to Gulf Shores for nationals. We spent our free time on the beach and playing in the ocean. All the team dinners, laughing, games and meeting new teammates.

What’s the most important thing you’ve learned from a coach?

It’s ok to lose. This gives us things to work on.

How did you get interested in softball?

Watching my older brother play baseball.

What are your strengths as a player? What are you trying to improve on the most?

I want the ball. When I have the ball in the circle, I know my teammates will always have my back. I am ready to do it at a moment’s notice. The thing I need to work on is confidence at the plate. As Taylor Swift said, “Shake it Off.”

What player(s) do you look up to the most?

We had a really great group of upperclassmen my freshman year. They not only taught us to play at the high school level but also how to win a State Championship. These girls are how I want to be remembered when I graduate.

What are your favorite hobbies outside of softball?

Hanging out with my friends and playing pickleball.

What excites you the most about playing college softball?

I am a highly competitive person and playing at the next level has always been a dream of mine since I was eight.
