What about Northwestern did you love the most?
Northwestern provided the perfect balance between academics and softball. The entire coaching staff is great and it just felt right.
What is your favorite travel ball memory?
Playing in the outfield with Lilly Heath. She and I had so much fun together. We always had funny conversations and just worked well next to each other.
What’s the most important thing you’ve learned from a coach?
My dad was always my coach off the field. He taught me to always work hard and put the time in after practice to always better myself in the game of softball. He spent countless hours throwing with me in the yard, and even put in a batting cage at work so we would have a place to practice in the winter. I grew a little later than most girls so we were always working on footwork and form. This paid off in the end when I finally grew.
How did you get interested in softball?
My parents signed me up for coach pitch when I was five and I naturally gravitated towards it. When the coach pitched to me he would take a few steps back because I hit the ball harder than most of the kids. I just loved the game from the very beginning, something just clicked.
What are your strengths as a player? What are you trying to improve on the most?
I would say that my biggest strength is probably effort. I’m the kind of kid that will dive in warmups and dive in practice. I feel like you need to lead by example and if you see someone always putting in 100% then it makes others feel like they need to match that effort.
I’m trying right now to improve on my patience. It’s hard for me to take pitches and walks when I always want to hit.

What player(s) do you look up to the most?
Growing up I really looked up to three local athletes, Maddie Newman (Louisville), Danielle Watson (Louisville and Florida State), and Erin Coffel (Kentucky). All three were Indiana Magic Gold players and made their mark in collegiate softball.
Outside of softball, I would say Caitlin Clark, because she is a great competitor. She is scrappy, fiery, and a very fun player to watch. I love how she’s had such a positive impact on the game of women’s basketball.
What are your favorite hobbies outside of softball?
Ice skating! I took skating lessons growing up, and there is a skating rink in downtown South Bend at Howard Park that I love going to in the winter. I was super excited to see that Northwestern is going to have a skating rink at their new football stadium in the winter. My brother plays hockey for our high school, so as a family, we are around skating all the time. In the summer, I love spending time at the lake, wake surfing, and riding our jet skis.
What excites you the most about playing college softball?
It’s still a little crazy knowing that I achieved my goal of playing in college. I’m looking forward to training with my team, getting to know my new teammates, and competing at the highest level. it’s basically what I’ve dreamed of doing since I was little.
