Wiggins, Alo, Wisz Homer on Day Two of Series Two
Day two of Series Two presented very close matchups, but Team Clark and Team Edwards came out resilient.
Team Alo vs. Team Clark
Back-to-back homers from Megan Wiggins and Jocelyn Alo in the seventh inning came close to securing a comeback victory for Team Alo, but Team Clark hung on to grab the 7-6 win.
Team Clark put all the pressure on Team Alo’s defense early in the first inning. Aubrey Leach reached on a throwing error by Baylee Klingler at third, followed by an unplayable bunt down the third base line from Kayla Kowalik that turned into a double. Jessi Warren singled to right field to send in the first run of the game, and after a hit batter from Maddie Penta, bases were loaded allowing Sam Fischer to rip a sacrifice fly to center field scoring Kowalik.

Then in the second, after McKenzie Clark was hit and advanced on a wild pitch, Leach sent a chopper over third base for an RBI.
Aleshia Ocasio had been phenomenal on the mound until Team Alo began to find its groove in the fourth inning. With a runner on first, the wind in Wichita continued to be an issue, allowing captain Alo’s fly in right field to drop. Tori Vidales then grounded out to shortstop and Jordan Roberts fouled out to right field to put up two RBIs, cutting the lead by one run.
Team Clark turned around and shook off that rough fourth inning and continued dominating at the plate. Hope Trautwein gave up three hits and Fischer’s single to right field was able to score another two runs. Wiggins certainly showed out for the ‘Gold’ in right field though, with an over-the-fence snag in foul territory.

The ‘Blue’ refused to be stopped there and continued the run party through the sixth. Kalei Harding’s double to left center scored a pair of insurance runs.
In the bottom of the seventh, the game quickly became tight with a Wiggins home run to right field and an Alo home run to left center off Payton Gottshall, but Team Clark was able to get out of the jam without blowing the lead.
MVP honors were awarded to Wiggins (558 total points), Leach (650) and Alo (830).
Team Edwards vs. Team Clark
In game two of the night, Team Clark landed into another close contest but couldn’t pull through this time. Team Edwards soared to a 4-3 win due to Delanie Wisz’s three-run home run and Bubba Nickles’s RBI.

Wisz’s three-run shot in the top of the first inning off Sarah Willis put Team Edwards way ahead for just a moment. But Alyssa Denham had an unusual start in the circle and walked two. Nadia Taylor singled through the right side allowing Leach to score. With bases loaded and two outs, Billie Andrews knocked a curveball to right field for an RBI, shortening the lead by one run.
Team Clark tied it all up in the third when Andrews flied out left field to score Fischer. Scoring halted from there until Team Edwards regained the lead in the fifth. Nickles flied out to left field allowing Jadelyn Allchin to score.
Aside from Denham’s hiccups in the first inning, she tightened up and threw the complete game with three strikeouts.
MVP honors were awarded to Wisz (680 total points), Denham (586) and Hannah Flippen (478).
