2022 NFL Scouting Combine will include 11 former Alabama players
On Wednesday, the NFL released its entire list of players who have been formally invited to participate in the 2022 NFL Scouting Combine, which is set to take place at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis on March 1-7. Of the 324 invitees, there are 11 former Alabama standouts. That includes six underclassmen.
In total, there will be five offensive and six defensive players. The list of Alabama players who were invited to the combine is included below.
- OLB Christopher Allen
- CB Jalyn Armour-Davis
- WR Slade Bolden
- LB Christian Harris
- CB Josh Jobe
- DL Phidarian Mathis
- WR John Metchie
- OL Evan Neal
- DL LaBryan Ray
- RB Brian Robinson
- WR Jameson Williams
Evan Neal is projected to be the highest-drafted player out of Tuscaloosa. In fact, he could be selected by the Jacksonville Jaguars with the No. 1 overall player. It’s a franchise that is in desperate need of more protection for quarterback Trevor Lawrence. Plus, another former Alabama offensive tackle, Cam Robinson, is a free agent this offseason.

At this time, the only other first-round projection for the Crimson Tide is Jameson Williams. Despite tearing his ACL in the national title game against Georgia, the Ohio State transfer is considered one of the top pass-catchers available. That’s not a surprise after he hauled in 79 receptions for 1,572 yards and 15 scores this past season.
Alabama will tie Oklahoma for having the second-most players invited with 11. The reigning national champion Georgia Bulldogs lead the way with 14, which is to be expected when looking at all the losses they’ll be facing following this past season.
The 2022 NFL Draft is set to take place April 28-30 in Paradise (Nev.).
