2024 recruit Cameron Pruitt talks Alabama visit, what a Bama offer would mean to him
Alabama-based defender Cameron Pruitt‘s recruitment has heated up in recent weeks.
The Theodore (Ala.) High junior has received over a dozen offers since the start of December, including ones from Colorado, Indiana, Penn State, and Vanderbilt. He’s also on the Alabama Crimson Tide’s radar, and recently attended their junior day this past Saturday.

Pruitt told BamaInsider that his trip included a one-on-one conversation with Nick Saban.
“Coach Saban called me into his office. He doesn’t know what position I’m going to play,” said Pruitt, who plays both defensive back and linebacker at Theodore. “He said he watched my film and likes how I play… he was telling me to come to a camp to identify where I’m better at.”

During his visit, Pruitt was accompanied by his cousin, Alabama commitment Sterling Dixon. While on campus, the two had a chance to conduct a film session with new inside linebackers coach Austin Armstrong.
“It was good. He explained everything perfectly,” Pruitt said of Armstrong. “He was talking with us like we were one of his players already. He’s a good coach. I like him. Has a lot of energy. Still a cool dude, fun dude to be around. One out of 10, I’d give him a 10.”
An offer from Bama has not yet arrived, but Pruitt would be excited about the opportunity to team up with Dixon in college.
“That’s my brother. He’s like a brother to me,” Pruitt said. “I love him. I’m always going to compete with him. He’s going to make me better and I’m going to make him better.”
Alabama offer would “mean a lot” to Cameron Pruitt
Cameron Pruitt is fresh off a visit to Alabama, and intends on returning to Tuscaloosa for multiple visits in the spring and summer. Penn State and Vanderbilt are two additional schools that he wants to check out this spring as well.
Those are the three programs highest on Pruitt’s radar at this juncture.
“Right now, my top three is Vanderbilt, Alabama, and Penn State,” Pruitt said. “The staff I’m connecting with the most is Vanderbilt. They’re standing out really good.”

If an offer from Bama does arrive, it would likely be during the summer after an in-person evaluation.
Pruitt, who stands at 6-foot-3, 190 pounds, shared what his reaction would be if he got the green light from the Crimson Tide.
“It would mean a lot because my family loves Alabama,” Pruitt said. “They talk about Alabama so good. One of them graduated from Alabama. She said it’s a good school to get your education from. I would be really excited to get an Alabama offer.”
Pruitt also thinks highly of the development he’d receive at Bama, as evidenced by what he’s seen from one of his good friends.
“One of my closest friends is Deontae Lawson,” Pruitt said. “He was a little guy, but he’s turned into a real dog. He’s built big. I’m trying to get to where Deontae Lawson is at: Get bigger and be better… I want to be better than him, and he knows that [laughing].”
