Alabama junior linebacker Jihaad Campbell was selected with the No. 31 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft by the Philadelphia Eagles on Thursday night. Campbell, who was in Green Bay for the event, was the second Crimson Tide player and second linebacker off the board.

The Eagles, the reigning Super Bowl champions, traded up one spot to select Campbell, who is now the eighth Alabama alum on Philadelphia’s roster ahead of the 2025-26 campaign.

A two-year starter at inside linebacker, Campbell led the Crimson Tide defense in tackles in Year 3 in Tuscaloosa. The 6-foot-3, 244-pound defender recorded 117 total tackles in 2024, including a team-high 54 solo stops. Campbell also paced UA’s defense with 11.5 tackles for loss and five sacks, while contributing two forced fumbles and one interception in Year 3.

Campbell was selected as a second-team All-American by the Football Writers Association of America this season. He was also recognized as a first-team All-SEC honoree by the conference’s head coaches as well as a second-team All-SEC performer by the Associated Press.

Campbell appeared in 35 games and 21 starts over his 3-year career at Alabama. The versatile linebacker finished his tenure with the Tide with 184 tackles, 15.5 tackles for loss and 5.5 sacks to go along with seven pass breakups, two interceptions, two forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries. He returned one fumble for a score against Tennessee in 2023.

The Erial, New Jersey native was a 5-star prospect in the 2022 recruiting class, according to the On3 Industry Rankings. Campbell attended IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida and was the No. 17 overall recruit in the nation and the No. 2 edge rusher. A one-time Clemson commit, he committed to Alabama over the Tigers, Florida, Georgia and Texas A&M.
