On March 4, Alabaster (Ala.) Thompson High’s Trent Seaborn returned to Alabama’s campus. The eighth-grade quarterback phenom attended the program’s third junior day of the year alongside teammate Anquon Fegans.

Even though he’s a Class of 2027 prospect, Seaborn chopped it up with a handful of coaches. He spoke with Eric Wolford, Joe Cox, Robert Bala, Tommy Rees, several analysts and graduate assistants, and Alabama Director of Player Personnel Bob Welton.

“The experience was unique in that I got a chance to meet and interact with several coaches,” Seaborn told BamaInsider this week. “Talking with Coach Bala was cool. He’s half Filipino too, like me, and his family comes from Hawaii, so that was cool since I grew up in Hawaii.”

On a future visit to Tuscaloosa, Seaborn is hoping to get some one-on-one time with head man Nick Saban.

“I think just the overall welcome feeling from the coaches was cool,” Seaborn said. “They all knew me and were familiar with how our team, Thompson, won the 7A championship. I didn’t get a chance to meet with Coach Saban, but hopefully I’ll get that opportunity someday.”

As he mentioned above, Seaborn caught up with new offensive coordinator Tommy Rees during his visit. The former Notre Dame assistant invited Seaborn to come back for a spring practice.

“Coach Rees seems like a great coach,” Seaborn said. “He was very easy to talk to, relaxed, and he asked me a lot of questions about my experience during the season at Thompson. I don’t know much about his coaching style at Notre Dame, but he did talk to me a little about how he’s planning to transition what he does into what Alabama does to be successful.”

“Ever since the state championship game, everything has been blowing up,” Seaborn told BamaInsider at last month’s Under Armour camp in Atlanta. “It’s been pretty crazy for me. I try to keep it all under control and try to stay away from all the hype and the clout. Stay true to God.”

Seaborn shared what his reaction would be if Alabama ended up dipping into his recruitment.

“It would truly be an honor,” Seaborn said. “Alabama is a big school. It’s a big-time program. Any school that offers me, I would truly be blessed to have that.”

On the field, Seaborn describes himself as a team player and someone with a high football IQ. Over the years, Seaborn noted that he is looking to get bigger and stronger as his skill set continues to develop.

The 6-foot, 178-pounder also gave his take on Alabama’s development at his position in recent years.

“The quarterbacks they’ve sent out of there are great,” Seaborn said. “Mac [Jones], Jalen [Hurts], Tua [Tagovailoa], Bryce [Young], they’re all amazing. It’s really impressive. Definitely a place I would consider going to, especially if Coach Saban is there by the time I graduate.”
