4-star 2023 WR Jaren Hamilton commits to Alabama
For the first time in over two months, Alabama has added a commitment to their 2023 class.
On Monday, Gainesville (Fla.) wide receiver Jaren Hamilton committed to the Crimson Tide. Hamilton is the first senior prospect to commit to Nick Saban‘s program since Jalen Hale joined the class on Sept. 21.
Hamilton previously released a top seven that featured Michigan, Mississippi State, USC, and others. In the end, however, it was Hamilton’s bond with the coaching staff and his feeling in Tuscaloosa that led to Bama coming out on top.
“Really, just my relationship that I built with the coaches,” Hamilton told BamaInsider when discussing why he committed to Alabama. “Coach [Holmon] Wiggins, Coach [Joe] Cox, and Coach Saban. Just talking with them, it all feels like family. It all feels like home there.
“It’s like a real family vibe out there,” Hamilton added. “When I was there, you could see with the recruits that everybody knew each other. Everybody dapped each other up. It’s a real good feel out there.”
Today’s commitment came a day after Hamilton’s official visit to Alabama concluded. He’s been to T-Town multiple times since the start of June, including for the Texas A&M game a month ago.
Throughout all these visits and ever since Alabama offered him in the summer, wide receivers coach Holmon Wiggins has been staying in touch with Hamilton on a regular basis.
“Real good. Real strong,” Hamilton said of his relationship with Wiggins. “We talk every week. He helps me with stuff. Talking ball. Even when I was out there at camp, I could just tell he knew what he was talking about with specific routes. Telling me how to get in and out of breaks. He’s real informative and I’m real comfortable with him.”

Alabama’s wide receiver and quarterback development caught Jaren Hamilton’s attention
Jaren Hamilton is joining a program that’s produced five first-round NFL Draft picks at his position in the previous three years.
The 6-foot, 190-pound pass catcher discussed how much of a role that Alabama’s receiver development played in his commitment.
“A lot,” Hamilton said. “Just being a little kid watching football on Saturdays, that’s all you see. It’s them running down the sidelines and doing crazy stuff. Even with Jameson Williams, seeing what he did last year at Alabama… I can see myself in his shoes one day.”
Interestingly enough, Bama was privately rewarded with Hamilton’s commitment after his visit in late July. During that stretch, Alabama added Jalen Hale to the fold, bringing up their total number of receiver commits to three.
Being a part of a four-wideout class, however, was never a concern for Hamilton.
“It really doesn’t matter to me,” Hamilton said. “Whoever is going to go there and show who they really are and work hard, it’s just going to be what it is. Even when Henry Ruggs and all of them were there, it was a lot of talent in one room. That’s just going to make us all better at the end of the day. I’m looking forward to it.”
There are currently no guarantees for Alabama at signal caller next year as the competition will figure to come down to Jalen Milroe and Ty Simpson.
He’s not joining a Bama program that has a sure-fire starter waiting in the wings, but Hamilton has zero concerns about their quarterback future.
“Really no worries,” Hamilton said. “I know that they’ll always produce a great quarterback, even if they’re not the best quarterback in the whole nation. It’s going to be one of the top quarterbacks in the nation. I’m really not worried about a quarterback problem; I know they’ll do their job.”

Hamilton wants to win a championship every year he’s with the Tide
Hamilton joins an Alabama class that not only features one of the top receiver groups in the country, but is also the No. 1 ranked class on the 2023 On3 Consensus Football Team Recruiting Rankings.
The borderline top-100 prospect says that he hopes to win a national championship at Bama every season, and is looking forward to helping the program bounce back next year.
“I think it’s the best class in the country, honestly,” Hamilton said. “I really feel like we’re going to come there and make an impact immediately. It’s going to be a revenge tour [next year]. Everybody is going to have to get some.”
How will Hamilton potentially make an impact with the Crimson Tide in 2023?
The top-20 wideout plans on bringing game-breaking speed to the wide receivers corps when he makes the move to Tuscaloosa.
“I’ve got the name ‘Turbo’ for a reason,” said Hamilton, who compares his game to that of CeeDee Lamb and Jameson Williams. “I feel like every time I touch the ball, it’s going to be electric. I’m not going to touch it and get a little five-yard gain; I’m going to make a play with the ball. I’m a playmaker, I’m a scorer. Going to ball out every time.”
With the Bama Standard well at the forefront of his mind, Hamilton is ready to push himself as far as he can go during his career at Alabama.
“My expectations are really just to go out there, work hard, and just push myself to the limits,” Hamilton said. “See how far I can go. I want to see what I can do at that level.”
