Sights, sounds from Alabama's first fall football practice

The Alabama football team took the field on Thursday afternoon for its first practice of fall camp. The Crimson Tide held a two-hour workout in shorts and helmets on the Thomas-Drew Practice Fields as it begins preparations for the upcoming 2023 season.
Thursday’s session marked the first of 20 preseason practices leading up to the first game week of the year. Alabama will kick off its 2023 football schedule on Saturday, Sept. 2 when it hosts Middle Tennessee State at Bryant-Denny Stadium. Kickoff is set for 6:30 p.m. CT on the SEC Network.

Alabama will return to the field on Friday afternoon for its second practice of fall camp. Before that session gets underway, the media will its first opportunity to speak to multiple players after getting to talk to Crimson Tide head coach Nick Saban on Thursday afternoon.
