Alabama completes non-conference schedule with Arkansas State rematch
The Alabama men’s basketball team’s 2024-25 non-conference schedule is now complete.
On Monday, Arkansas State announced the Red Wolves will return to Tuscaloosa, Alabama for a second consecutive season to face the Crimson Tide at Coleman Coliseum. The matchup is scheduled to take place on Friday, Nov. 8, according to an A-State announcement.
This will mark the fourth time Alabama and Arkansas State have met on the hardwood, with the Tide claiming the previous three meetings. The two teams last faced off on Dec. 4 with Alabama walking away with an 89-65 victory. It was the first time Nate Oats and former assistant coach Bryan Hodgson, now leading the Red Wolves’ men’s basketball program, had been on opposite benches after Hodgson worked under Oats at both Alabama and Buffalo.
Last season, Hodgson’s first at the helm, Arkansas State posted a 20-17 overall record and an 11-7 mark in Sun Belt Conference play. The Red Wolves faced four Power Six teams and went 1-3 with a road win over Louisville on Dec. 13. A-State participated in the College Basketball Invitational and went 2-1 before its season ended with a loss to High Point.
Alabama’s game against Arkansas State is the last game in its 2024-25 non-conference slate, which will be one of the most difficult in the country. Late last month, Made for March reported the Crimson Tide will open the upcoming season against UNC Ashville on Nov. 4.
