Alabama basketball falls six spots in AP Poll after Purdue loss
The AP Top 25 Poll released its Week 3 rankings on Monday morning, and the Alabama men’s basketball team fell six spots from its preseason standing after its road loss to Purdue.
The Crimson Tide checked in at No. 8 on Monday, Nov. 18, just three days after its first loss of the 2024-25 college basketball season. Alabama (3-1) fell in West Lafayette, Indiana, 87-78, to the Boilermakers, who are now ranked No. 6 in the updated AP Top 25 Poll.
Alabama still has four ranked teams in front of it on its non-conference schedule, including matchups with No. 7 Houston, No. 14 Creighton, No. 24 Rutgers and No. 25 Illinois. The Tide was also one of seven SEC teams ranked among the top 25 after the first three weeks.
