TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — The Alabama men’s basketball team moved to 25-4 (15-1 SEC) on Saturday afternoon after an 86-83 win over Arkansas (19-10, 8-8 SEC) in Coleman Coliseum. It wasn’t an easy victory, as the Crimson Tide were down by nine points, but they found a way to come back and had even established their own 12-point lead at one time.

What’s even more impressive about the turnaround is that Alabama only converted 3-of-22 three-point attempts, which comes out to just 13.6%. At one point, the Crimson Tide were only 1-of-19 (5.3%) before hitting three of the last three attempts to close out the win.

Freshman phenom Brandon Miller was once again the star of the show for Alabama. After scoring a career-high 41 points against South Carolina on Wednesday, he once again led the team with 24 on Saturday (17 of which came in the second half). That gives him 65 over his last two games. He also added six rebounds and a block to his stat line.

Jahvon Quinerly was also strong, especially in the second half. The veteran point guard posted 16 points to go with a game-high seven assists and three rebounds. He wasn’t perfect by any means, but this was his highest-scoring output since the 103-101 four-overtime win against North Carolina back around Thanksgiving.

I wouldn’t say that freshman forward Noah Clowney had his best performance of the season on the offensive end for Alabama, but he still managed to secure his third double-double of the season after scoring 10 points with 13 rebounds. Ohio transfer guard Mark Sears was the fourth and final Alabama player to score in the double digits (13 points).

His free throws down the stretch were crucial to the team’s effort to maintain a late lead.

Alabama has another home game against Auburn (19-9, 9-6 SEC) next Wednesday before wrapping up the regular season on the road against No. 25 Texas A&M (21-7, 13-2 SEC). Tipoff for the matchup against the Tigers will be at 6 p.m. CT (7 p.m. ET). The game will once again be televised on ESPN 2.
