Alabama issued its final availability report before its road game against Texas.

Senior guards Latrell Wrightsell Jr. (Achilles) and Houston Mallette (knees) were both listed as out and will not play against the Longhorns. Alabama true freshman forward Derrion Reid, listed as questionable on yesterday’s initial report, was also out on the final report.

Reid missed the Crimson Tide’s road win over Arkansas on Saturday and several games this season. He most recently missed four straight contests in January due to nursing a lower-body injury. Last week, Alabama head coach Nate Oats said the setback has resurfaced and the former McDonald’s All-American will be evaluated on a game-to-game basis.

“Derrion had a little bit of discomfort following the Georgia game,” Oats said on Friday. “We had him out, brought him back, continued to increase his basketball workload. But, since we anticipate him having a long and successful basketball career well after he’s done playing in college, we didn’t want to jeopardize any of his long-term health.

“We’re trying to make decisions that benefit him both in the short term and long term, and we don’t want to try to use anybody just to win games. … He’ll be game-to-game moving forward until he’s able to go through a full practice and not experience any type of significant discomfort.”

The No. 2-ranked Crimson Tide (20-3, 9-1 SEC) and Longhorns (15-9, 4-7) are set to square off tonight in Austin, Texas. The conference matchup will begin at 8 p.m. CT and air on ESPN.

SEC Availability Report Policies

Beginning with the 2024-25 athletics season, all Southeastern Conference schools will provide public reports on the availability of student-athletes to participate in each conference game in the sports of football, men’s and women’s basketball and baseball.

Prior to an SEC basketball game, an institution must issue the Initial Report the night before a game by 7 p.m. CT (or, for an institution that played a game the day before, by 11:00 am local time the day of the game, or two hours before the game starts, whichever is earlier).

On game day, an institution must provide one Game Day Update no later than 90 minutes before game time. On the Game Day Update, the only permissible designation statuses are:

• Available – Will dress for the game and be available to play

• Game Time Decision – Coaches and/or medical personnel need to evaluate the athlete in pre-game warmups before deciding whether he can participate in the game

• Out – Not dressing or available for the game
