Alabama issued its first availability report for tomorrow’s home game against Vanderbilt.

The Crimson Tide will welcome the Commodores to Coleman Coliseum on Tuesday, Jan. 21. The league matchup is scheduled to tip off at 6 p.m. CT and air on the SEC Network.

Latrell Wrightsell (Achilles) has been on every report this season, and Houston Mallette (knees) has been on the last four. Freshman forward Derrion Reid was added before the Ole Miss game and hasn’t played the last two games. Reid is dealing with a lower-body injury.

Crimson Tide head coach Nate Oats provided an update on Reid’s health on Monday.

“He’s doing more and more every day,” Oats said. “He did more today. He’s still not doing everything in practice. He’ll probably be questionable. We’ll see where he’s at tomorrow.

“It’s one of those injuries where if you bring him back too fast it could be season-long lingering, never 100 percent. With the way he plays, he’s got to be explosive, athletic, attacking the rim, flying around, making plays. He’s just not gonna be great if he’s got a lingering injury that’s keeping him from being explosive.

“He’s doing more and more. He’s antsy to play. But we’re not gonna be stupid and bring him back too early and have him be injured the rest of the year.”

If Reid does not play on Tuesday, the Crimson Tide will be down to nine scholarship players.

Alabama and Vanderbilt must update their availability reports 90 minutes before tip-off.

SEC Availability Report Policies

Beginning with the 2024-25 athletics season, all Southeastern Conference schools will provide public reports on the availability of student-athletes to participate in each conference game in the sports of football, men’s and women’s basketball and baseball.

Prior to an SEC basketball game, an institution must issue the Initial Report the night before a game by 7 p.m. CT (or, for an institution that played a game the day before, by 11:00 am local time the day of the game, or two hours before the game starts, whichever is earlier).

Designated Participation Statuses

If an institution has knowledge that a student-athlete may not be able to participate in the upcoming game for any reason (including, but not limited to, injury, illness, suspension, ineligibility, or personal matter), the institution must accurately designate the student-athlete’s participation status on the Initial Report as follows:

– Out – Will not play / 0% chance to play

– Doubtful – Unlikely to play / 25% chance to play

– Questionable – Uncertain to play / 50% chance to play

– Probable – Probable to play / 75% chance to play
