TUSCALOOSA, Ala.  No. 23 Alabama (5-1) will host Clemson (5-0) tonight at Coleman Coliseum. The ACC/SEC Challenge game will tip off at 8:30 p.m. CT and air on ESPN.

PREGAME

— There are 14 seats for NBA scouts on press row for Alabama’s home game vs. Clemson, including the Cavaliers (x2), Knicks, Mavericks, Lakers, Suns, Wizards, Heat, Bulls, Nuggets, Hawks (x2) and Hornets (x2).

— Officials for tonight’s ACC/SEC Challenge: Joe Lindsay, Don Daily and Steven Anderson.

— Alabama is making a change to its starting five, going with Mo Wague. Nate Oats to CTSN: “He’s a great kid. He’s doing things the right way. He’s a guy that you want to see succeed. … We’re going to give him a chance and see what happens.”

— Alabama starters vs. Clemson: Mark Sears, Grant Nelson, Rylan Griffen, Mo Wague and Aaron Estrada. Wague replaces Nick Pringle.

FIRST HALF

Clemson 9, Alabama 8 (15:09) | PJ Hall has made the only 3 of the night thus far and has 5 points and 3 rebounds. Tide is 0-4 from 3.

Clemson 14, Alabama 12 (11:52) | A Sam Walters 3 ends the drought from deep. UA missed its first 9 shots from beyond the arc and is 1 for its last 7 from the entire field.

Clemson 25, Alabama 17 (7:56) | Tigers have made their last 4 FGs and are 11-19 from the floor. Tide is 7-22, including 2-13 from deep.

Alabama 25, Clemson 25 (5:10) | Latrell Wrightsell keeps the ball from going out bounds, passes it to Rylan Griffen, who quickly dishes it to Mark Sears for the 3. It’s an 8-0 run for the Tide to tie the ballgame. Timeout, Tigers.

SECOND HALF

Alabama 42, Clemson 40 (15:56) | Pair of Clemson bigs, PJ Hall and RJ Godfrey, with 3 fouls apiece at the under-16 media timeout.

Alabama 53, Clemson 46 (12:46) | Mark Sears, Latrell Wrightsell and Sears again (from deep) drain 3s to give Alabama its largest lead. Timeout, Clemson.

Clemson 68, Alabama 63 (7:10) | Back-to-back 3s from Estrada and Nelson end a 4-minute FG drought for UA. But Clemson has made 4 of its last 5 from 3 and is shooting 65% from the field this half.

Clemson 76, Alabama 66 (4:37) | Tigers take a 10-point lead after back-to-back 3s, are now 7-of-10 from deep in the second half. After Clemson took its largest lead of the game, Oats called timeout.

POSTGAME

— Nate Oats: “Disappointing home loss with a great crowd. I thought the student section was great. … I thought their physicality bothered us on both ends.”

— Oats: “We’ve got to get some defensive pride about us, all of us.”

— Oats: “We’re definitely not tough enough to be competing for an SEC championship right now, that’s for sure.”

— Oats on Jay Williams’ “tennis court” comment on the Coleman Coliseum crowd: “We’ve got to give them something to cheer about, to be honest with you. Come out and they go on a 13-0 run and people are going to be quiet.”
