TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — The Alabama men’s basketball team moved to 26-4 (16-1 SEC) on Wednesday night after a thrilling 90-85 overtime win over Auburn (19-11, 9-8 SEC) in Coleman Coliseum. Not only did the Crimson Tide win, but they overcame a 17-point second-half deficit, giving them the SEC regular season title for the second time in three years.

Alabama didn’t start the game off great. The team struggled with fouls and turnovers while also struggling from beyond the arc. Still, the Crimson Tide hit shots when they needed to and clawed their way back into striking distance. From there, it was a back-and-forth battle.

The star of the show was veteran Jahvon Quinerly. The fifth-year guard scored a game-high 24 points to go along with six assists, three steals and two rebounds. That scoring output was also a season-high for Quinerly and gives him 41 points over the last two games.

Brandon Miller, Noah Clowney and Mark Sears all put up 17 points apiece. Miller and Clowney added a game-high eight rebounds while Miller also totaled three blocks on defense.

This was a picture-perfect way to win the SEC regular season, too. Alabama was down by 17 points to its biggest rival, and the game was at home. Plus, the win also secured a perfect home record for Nate Oats and company.

Alabama will wrap up the regular season on Saturday with a road game against No. 24 Texas A&M (22-8, 14-3 SEC). The Aggies have won seven of their last eight games, including a 69-61 victory over Ole Miss on Tuesday night. Tipoff is set for 11 a.m. CT (noon ET), and it will air on CBS.
