Alabama basketball to play at North Carolina in 2024 ACC/SEC Challenge
Alabama’s long-awaited ACC/SEC Challenge opponent was officially revealed Wednesday.
The Crimson Tide will travel to take on North Carolina on Wednesday, Dec. 4, according to Jon Rothstein. It will be a rematch of last season’s Sweet 16 battle between Alabama and the Tar Heels, which saw the former advance to its second-ever Elite Eight appearance.
The Tide has won two straight games against UNC, but the Tar Heels hold an 8-6 series lead and are 2-0 in basketball games played on the Chapel Hill, North Carolina-based campus.
This matchup now marks Alabama’s sixth against the other 15 teams that reached the Sweet 16 in 2024. Other games on the Crimson Tide’s 2024-25 schedule against Sweet 16 teams include Houston (Las Vegas), Illinois (Birmingham), Purdue, Creighton and Tennessee.
