Alabama basketball unveils new throwback uniforms for Creighton game
The Alabama men’s basketball team will wear new throwback jerseys on Saturday night.
Former Crimson Tide standout Erwin Dudley, now a graduate assistant at Alabama, revealed the uniform news to the players before their December 14 home game against Creighton.
“You guys have an opportunity to really do something to change the way people look at Alabama,” Dudley said. “That jersey right there (points to his picture on the practice gym wall), we’ve got something special for y’all in the locker room. I’m telling y’all this, I don’t know if I was supposed to say it, but we’ve got something special for y’all.
“When you put on that jersey, wear it with pride. It’s a throwback.”
Alabama wore similar jerseys when Dudley starred for the Crimson Tide from 1999-2003.
It marks the second year in a row that Alabama has introduced throwback jerseys. Last year, they were white uniforms with Crimson Tide on the front of the jersey and the old-school block A on the shorts. The ones presented to Alabama players this season are crimson.
No. 7 Alabama (7-2) will face Creighton (7-3) tonight in its 10th game of the 2024-25 campaign. The Tide will host the Bluejays at Coleman Coliseum at 7:30 p.m. CT on the SEC Network.

Alabama and Creighton are meeting for the second straight season, with the Bluejays prevailing, 85-82, in Omaha last season. These are two of five teams in the country to have reached at least three of the last four Sweet 16s, joining Gonzaga, Houston and UCLA.
It has been 33 days in between home games for Alabama, its longest stretch since 1976-77 season. This will be the fifth-straight and sixth out of the last seven games that Alabama has faced a player named to the Naismith Player of the Year Watch List (Creighton’s Ryan Kalkbrenner, North Carolina’s RJ Davis, Oregon’s Jackson Shelstad, Rutgers’ Ace Bailey and Dylan Harper, Houston’s LJ Cryer and Purdue’s Braden Smith).
