Alabama Commit Ryan Williams wins Mr. Football, more winners
The annual Alabama Sports Writers Association announced the state’s top awards on Thursday during a ceremony held in Montgomery. The 41st winner of the Mr. Football in the state of Alabama was delivered to the first ever sophomore.
Alabama commit Ryan Williams, a top 20 overall player in the 2025 class according to the On3 Sports Consensus Player Rankings, earned the honor after accounting for 42 touchdowns and helping Saraland High School to its first state title. He was also named the Class 6A Back of the Year.
Williams posted video game like numbers each almost each week during the season. He had 88 receptions for 1,641 yards and 24 touchdowns. He also had 57 rushing attempts for 700 yards and 15 touchdowns. Williams had two punt returns for touchdowns and threw a touchdown pass.

Alabama signee, commit also receive top awards
Ryqueze McElderry, four-star offensive lineman from Anniston High School was named the Class 4A Lineman of the Year by the ASWA. McElderry did not attend the banquet on Thursday. McElderry signed with Alabama in December. He joined the the team for bowl practice, and is officially enrolled as a student-athlete in Tuscaloosa.
Sterling Dixon, 2024 Top 100 EDGE from Mobile Christian also went home with hardware after his sensational junior campaign. Dixon earned Class 3A Lineman of the Year after recording 172 tackles, 39 tackles for loss and 18 sacks. The 6-foot-3, 215-pound defender committed to Alabama in December.
