Alabama basketball back in top 25 in latest Coaches, AP Polls
The Alabama men’s basketball team is now back in the top 25 in both the Coaches and AP Polls, which were released on Monday. The Crimson Tide had been amongst that group through the first seven games of the season, but losing to Ohio State and Clemson in less than a week caused them to fall out.
In fact, there was a seven game stretch where UA went 2-5, but they’ve since gone on an 8-1 run (including going 6-1 in SEC play) to get the overall record to 14-6. And with an impressive win over a top-20 Auburn team and a dominate victory over LSU on Saturday, Alabama now sits at No. 24 in the AP and No. 22 in the Coaches.

That development makes them one of only four SEC teams in the top-25, joining Tennessee (No. 5 in AP), Kentucky (No. 10) and Auburn (No. 16). Four of Alabama’s six losses have come against opponents who are ranked in the top-13, too. That includes the Vols, Purdue (No. 2), Arizona (No. 11) and Creighton (No. 13).
Slowly but surely, this Alabama team is beginning to figure things out. Next up is a road trip to Athens to play Georgia (14-6, 4-3 SEC). Tipoff for that game is set for 5:30 p.m. CT (6:30 ET) on Wednesday, and it will air on the SEC Network. Then, UA will return home for a game against Mississippi State on Saturday, Feb. 3.
