Alabama basketball continues to climb in AP, Coaches Polls
The Alabama men’s basketball team made its way back into the top 25 in both the AP and Coaches Polls last week. Now, the Crimson Tide continue their climb in those rankings after beating Georgia on the road and Mississippi State at home this past week.
Those developments now moves the team’s record to 16-6 (8-1 SEC), which has also led to them being ranked No. 16 in both polls. Granted, there are a few minor differences in the rankings. One noticable difference is South Carolina checking in ahead of Alabama at No. 15 in the AP. Meanwhile, the Coaches Poll has the Gamecocks at No. 20.
UA beat South Carolina by close to 30 points (74-47) less than a month ago, so I’m a little surprised to see them ahead. Alabama still has everything ahead of it that it wants to achieve. Going on the road this Wednesday and beating a now No. 12-ranked Auburn team (No. 11 in the Coaches Poll) would certainly go a long ways.
